Description

This kit combines LoRa and embedded AI to enable you to digitalize the world. By bringing AI-powered LoRaWAN IoT-based projects off the ground just through plug-and-play, everyone can leverage these two trendy technologies to serve our real life better.                                                           

                                                   

Embedded AI can be realized through two important components: Wio Terminal and Vision AI sensor. Wio Terminal itself is a fully-functional embedded machine learning device integrated with practical add-ons like a 2.4” LCD Screen, onboard IMU(LIS3DHTR), microphone, buzzer, light sensor, and infrared emitter(IR 940nm), along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity support. In terms of software, it is compatible with easy-to-start programming platforms like Arduino and Micropython that are already utilized by many passionate makers in countless projects and applications. 

The compact AI-powered camera sensor is thumb-sized, vision-based, and suitable for Edge Intelligence. Just applying edge machine learning algorithms in this easy-to-use AI camera can realize object detection. 

 

In order to meet the various needs of application scenarios, this kit also supports groves that can help in solutions like indoor air quality monitoring, cold chain management, and smart gardening from Seeed’s rich plug-and-play standardized Grove system. 800 groves are also provided for you to adapt to your unique application scenarios. 

 

LoRaWAN is the go-to technology for IoT projects. LoRa E5 Grove is the one to enable long range wireless connectivity and supports wide frequency range, including EU868/US915/AU915/AS923/KR920/IN865. It enables you to leverage this low power cost-effective, high security and globally standardized wireless network to realize data transmission. If your areas have not been covered by the LoRaWAN network, you can choose our SenseCAP outdoor gateway and indoor gateway to customize your own LoRaWAN network and turn any space into an IoT island.

 

All of the above makes rapid prototyping and rapid deployment a piece of cake. After investigating the potential improvement opportunities your AI-powered LoRaWAN end nodes can bring to the vertical industries, you can also directly choose Seeed's corresponding industrial-used SenseCAP products for large-scale deployment after functional verification. Why not try to quickly build a smart Plant Care system which can monitor your plant's Health( like soil moisture), a long stripe sensor inside the case can help quickly identify the soil water content and tell exactly whether your plant needs watering or not. 

With a standard Grove connector, you can plug and play after burning your Arduino code into the Wio terminal. (Remember the left Grove connector under the Wio Terminal is for I2C, that’s why you need to connect it with Soil Moisture.) LoRaWAN 6 In 1 Greenhouse application with vision AI demo:

Greenhouse technology provides humans to Create an Optimum Growing Environment for plants and Protects them from bad weather, pests and predators. Nowadays people can easily customize the greenhouse according to needs, such as agriculture, horticulture, hydroponic, etc. 

By fully utilizing our kit, you can build a basic Greenhouse monitoring system, which allows access to LoRa network service through the LoRa-E5 module and Face detection via the Vision AI module. In this demo, you need an additional Grove - I2C hub.

Thanks to the long transmit distance and low power consumption, you can set several monitoring terminals as you need, each terminal could communicate with other terminals through LoRa. If you need a more compact system with a full enclosure(IP66 level or above) and a data center App, we also provide specialized products. Check our SenseCAP series.

  • There are two Grove interfaces on the board to extend more functions for your projects. Here are some suggested sensors.

Grove - GPS (Air530)---Provide real-time GPS tracking. It is good to work as a tracker.

Grove - Human Presence Sensor (AK9753)---It can be used to detect the presence of the human body or any other infrared object. 

Grove - Light Sensor v1.2 - LS06-S phototransistor---Use for light measurement and light detection.

Grove - Flame Sensor--- The Grove - Flame Sensor can be used to detect fire sources or other light sources of the wavelength in the range of 760nm - 1100nm.

Grove - Sound Sensor/ Noise Detector--- The Grove - Loudness Sensor is designed to detect the loudness of environmental sound, which amplifies and filters the high-frequency signal that is received from the microphone, and outputs a positive envelope.

Grove - Vibration Motor---The Grove - Vibration Motor consists of one coin type motor which is a permanent magnet coreless DC motor. It vibrates when the input logic is HIGH which can be used to notify the user.

Grove - RS232---The Grove RS-232 allows you to connect with RS-232 device easily.

Grove - RS485---The Grove RS-485 allows you to connect with RS-485 device easily.

Grove - I2C Hub(4 Port) ---I2C Hub Grove is an extension Grove module for connecting multiply I2C devices(4 Grove connectors) to Grove Base Shield. 

Grove - I2C Hub (6 Port)--- 6 port version of Grove - I2C Hub(4 Port).
