It only requires one software to manage all the equipment. The Home Assistant Yellow Kit includes the latest Zigbee radio chip from Silicon Labs, which is forward-compatible with the upcoming Matter smart home connectivity standard. 

It includes an M.2 expansion port for NVMe SSD hard drive for expanding available space. It contains a gigabit Ethernet, 2 USB 2.0 Type-A host ports, and 1 USB-C 2.0 device port. It also has a high-quality stereo audio DAC with a 2V RMS line out on a 3.5mm audio jack.

The board supports both the Power-over-Ethernet power supply and power adapter. With a PoE-compatible switch or router, you can communicate and power Home Assistant Yellow with a single Ethernet cable.
